Biography l  Interview with Diego Martinez Vignatti

Diego Martinez Vignatti is born in Argentina in 1971. He studied Art History, script writing and photography before graduating as a lawyer in 1995.  He left for Europe the following year to go to film school and was accepted at the INSAS, the Belgian Cinema School, where he read cinematography.

In 2003 he directed his first film NOSOTROS, a feature documentary that was selected by the International Film Festival of Rotterdam (2003), Cinéma du Réel (International Competition), the Buenos Aires Film Festival (Argentina), Lussas, the Leipzig Film Festival and the Montreal International Documentary meetings. The film has won the SCAM Award (France 2004) and was successfully released in Belgium. He is now preparing his second feature film "La cantora de tangos".

He also contributed to more than 20 films as Director of Photography, including "Japón" (Cannes 2002), "Tenja" (Locarno 2004), "Battle in Heaven"(Cannes 2005), "The Unpolished" (Rotterdam 2007), "The Roof" (Rotterdam 2007)
